The State is a group of comedians who, for a few short seasons, had a great, quirky, funny show on MTV.
Sort of like Saturday Night Live, only funny. The humor was young, unhinged, and always daring.
They left MTV to work at CBS, but weren't renewed after their hilarious (but unpopular) "53rd annual Holloween Special"
They now have a book out (State by State with the State), and several of their shows were recently released by MTV.
(The Video is called "Skits and Stickers")
They created some of the most memorable comic scenarios I've ever seen, and I hope they'll be back on some sort of celluloid soon!
